Anxiety Management
-
According to Seth Godin, Anxiety is repeatedly re-experiencing failure in advance. It is a general feeling of apprehension about a possible future danger. Anxiety is looked as a sign of an inner battle or conflict between our desires and expressions. Sometimes even stable, well-adjusted people may be susceptible to anxiety. Feelings of anxiety can hamper one’s psychological and physical well-being
-
Anxiety happens when a combination of emotion and thought interfere in a person’s personal and professional life in a negative manner, and disrupts the daily activities.
-
Anxiety happens when you are pressured to please other individuals and try to get their approval rather than learning to love yourself.Anxiety happens when you give your inner child to another person to make you feel loved and safe.
-
Anxiety happens when you try to control others into giving you what you need to be giving it to yourself.
-
When in an anxious state of mind, the person experiencing it is most likely to shut themselves to any positive outcomes in their life.
-
The natural response to anxiety is Fight or Flight response, for instance: If an individual in a social gathering is no longer feeling comfortable or their symptoms of anxiety seems quiet intense , their brain’s response would perceive it as a threat and they might leave the gathering early or abruptly, another instance could be cancelling the plan last minute, which in turn is taken wrongly by others due to this but having anxious thoughts may consist of their fear a panic attack or anything that could be a triggering situation for them.
-
Anxiety is not a sign of weakness and nor does it go on its own if we don’t work on it. Unmanaged Anxiety often leads to distress and mental disorder, to acknowledge the anxiety and work on being able to manage it is an act of courage and a sign of your strength.
-
Symptoms-Tiredness ,Intense fear of being judged,Trouble concentrating on a particular task, insomnia, cold sweats, shortness of breath, negative thoughts, overthinking, trembling, avoiding social gatherings , having difficulty in forming new relationship/ interactions and Constantly self- blaming and highly criticising oneself for not being able to fit in.
How Therapy would help in Managing the anxiety:
-
With therapy, a person would learn about themselves and be able identify triggers that cause these bouts of anxiety. The therapist helps the client learn to better handle stressful situations and focus. Most often when an Individual is anxious they lose their connection with oneself .the therapist would help them in acknowledging, and connecting with oneself through Mindfulness,Relaxation techniques and Grounding Meditation techniques are some of what can be expected from a therapy session as these would help you in bringing your subconscious mind to the present and connect with your inner and higher self . A client will leave therapy better equipped to handle their every-day life.
-
On an average , to let go of anxiety the number of sessions would help depends on person to person but the therapist would suggest about 15- 20 sessions as anxiety is deep rooted .
